Today my sis and I went to ICA building to do our passports.
On the way there, in the MRT, a blind man came in with his white cane.
An Indian national who was a complete stranger to him came and
sat him down at the reserved seat.
After I while, I got the chance to sit next to him.
I was quite intrigued by him and was taking like side glances at him.
But I felt awful because even though he cant see me doing it
he might have felt it so I stopped.
He was listening to music! So cool.
Then city hall came, he was getting off at the same stop as me.
So me and my sis helped him out of the train by guiding his elbow.
Then we got out, I asked him
"where do you have to go?"
He opened his mouth and said "the next platform"
My heart skipped a beat.
It was like honey filling the air with song.
It was those kind of voice that isnt too deep and isnt too high.
It was astounding.
Then we brought him there and we then confused which station he wanted to go.
Then I was very happy i could talk to him again.
I looked straight at his eyes.
They were white slits.
Then i asked "which station do you have to go"
"tampines"
Waah, again, fullamak.
Then train came, and we sat him down at an empty reserved seat again.
My sis and I went to stand the centre pole and
were discussing how brilliant his voice was.
Then I suggested we should tell him and make his day.
But he was wearing his ear pieces and did not want to disturb him.
But I had to because of a personal experience
where a completely random woman came up to me and said
I was pretty (dont ask) and it made my day.
So like one min before Lavender doors opened,
I went to him.
I didnt realize he was talkin to someone using ear piece
and e mic
and just said "your voice is beautiful"
he didnt hear so I lightly touched his fingers holding the mic
then he took out his ear piece.
"Your voice is very nice"
This is the best part.
He was looking down and not at me
and he gave like a split second shocked reaction
and then SMILED like a child.
And then an innocent "thank you".
My god, it was a beautiful moment.
Then I remembered my manners and said "Have a nice day, bye"
and rushed out the closing MRT doors.
The doors closed shut and that was it, he was gone.
Thank you God for giving me this opportunity.
It was enriching.
:):)
Come to think of it, I do not even know what race/religion he was.
I think Malay.
Anyway, my sis and I Agree he would have been very good looking if he wasnt blind.
Ya Allah, thank you for my eyes and my health.
