I love the moon. Everyday I look up to the sky and catch that white face and walk towards the MRT station. It's amazing how much the moon can reflect human nature. First of all, the moon, no matter how much it shines and captures the essence of night with its glow, depends on the Sun for its life and light. Just goes to show, that no matter how much you bask in your glory there will be at least one person who was quintessential for your victory. Next, the moon is never stagnant. It goes through a cycle. I liken this to humans because sinners can change and angels can sin. Change is inevitable. Tauruseans, i.e. ME, are hostile to change but everyone has to go through it. Why, do you think the Singapore Flag has a cresent and not a sun? It signifies change and development, a young nation on the rise. Lastly, the moon signifies feminity. Even Greek Methology names Diana as the Moon. Females, are generally, physically and artistically more beautiful than males (I disagree btw) which leads to them being likened with the beauty of the moon. Just take a look at the scores of poets that refer to the moon as their female lovers and so on. Even the song Vennilave Vennilave, "நாம் இரவின் மடியில் பிள்ளைகள் ஆவோம். பாலூட்ட நிலவுண்டு." ; refering to the moon as a female. This also shows the general social stigma of the female dependance (the moon) on the opposite gender known as the male (the sun). Sigh...... Anyway, these are just a few on-the-surface reasons why I adore the moon. There is still alot to be analyzed. I just realized how literature based this is. So all those who are not blessed with the lit mind like my triple science friends, be content with what I wrote. Lol.
